A conflict of interest arises when an employee’s personal, financial, or outside business interests interfere with their responsibilities to Adirondack Corp. This includes, but is not limited to:
Engaging in business dealings with a competitor, vendor, or client that may benefit the employee personally.
Holding a financial interest in a competing company or vendor that does business with Adirondack Corp.
Using company resources, confidential information, or influence for personal gain.
Hiring, supervising, or doing business with a close relative or personal acquaintance where favoritism may be a concern.
Accepting gifts, favors, or payments from vendors, clients, or business partners that may influence business decisions.
Employees must immediately disclose any potential conflict of interest to their supervisor or HR department. Adirondack Corp. will review the situation and determine if corrective action is needed.
To disclose a potential conflict, employees should submit a Conflict of Interest Disclosure Form to HR.
To maintain transparency and fairness, employees may not:
Engage in outside employment or business activities that directly compete with Adirondack Corp.
Use company resources (computers, email, vehicles, etc.) for personal business or outside work.
Accept gifts, payments, or favors from third parties in exchange for preferential treatment.
Discuss confidential company strategies or financials with unauthorized parties.
Employees must avoid favoritism or bias in business dealings involving family members, close friends, or romantic partners.
Employees must disclose if they have a family or personal relationship with a vendor, client, or subordinate.
Hiring decisions, promotions, or contract approvals involving family members must be reviewed by HR to ensure fairness.
Failure to disclose or address a conflict of interest may result in disciplinary action, including:
Verbal or written warnings
Reassignment or termination of business relationships
Suspension or termination of employment
Legal action in cases of fraud or unethical behavior
Employees who suspect a conflict of interest within the company should report the matter to HR or management immediately. Adirondack Corp. maintains a confidential and retaliation-free environment for reporting ethical concerns.
